Day 1 year 2 starts tomorrow.

Well I am back on the wagon, and back to blogging I hope.

I have spent last half hour on weightwatchers website familiarising myself with propoints again and I am getting back on it. I should have had ww tonight but as its a BH the community centre is closed so I had no weigh in. Thought I would use extra time constructively and plan next couple of days meals as I am at work tomorrow and out for a meal on Thursday.

Currently I have no plans for New Years Eve so I think I should be able to manage it with my 49 point buffer. The only concern I have is I have no idea what I weigh after the christmas season and the foot injury (See above) that had me laid up. Last weigh in I was 15 stone 10 but that was 3 very fattening weeks ago....but I am not letting that stop me dieting this week and have start weight from tuesday 4th january.

Foot is better but not exercise ready...back to work in the morning.

I need to get my head around an essay but also need to find time to fit some exercise in....until my essay is complete I will have to manage with the RCdaily exercises from her book from last year. But after 10th january I will assign myself a gym date each week. oooo these are beginning to sound like New Years resolutions.

Point monitoring, weighing, considering choices.....mmmmmmm

I am having a go at my diet, despite doing ww for last 6 weeks I have been unsuccessful at the scales. After a chat with my leader she has recommended a few things and I have drawn a line under the last 6 weeks and I am going for gold again.

This week I have looked at the diet afresh and weighed, planned and tracked like a newbie. I have taken packed lunches to work and considered healthy snacks and taken them with me too.

I have continued to try and keep something active in every day , even if it is only runing up and down stairs, and I am also planning for a weekend away, not panicking. Also know I have 3 meals out in 48 hours so again I am planning and looking at eating out guides so I can make healthy choices. I am at my lowest this year so far so I ma hoping for a loss on Tuesday.

My big discovery this week is low fat chilli philly light. Lovely for adding to things like mushrooms to make sauces and low in points.

I am also using delivery services from asda for my shopping to save money and avoid teh naughties.

Naughty Giggles....its been so long

well I can't believe I haven't blogged for so long!!!

Its been a weird month. I have a month of staying the same or mini gains despite eating properly and exercising, but I have decided its just a plateau and tried to ignore the numbers and concentrate on feeling better and healthier.

I am always ho[peful taht the scales will catch up but I am focussing on NSV's ie people telling me I look like I have lost loads, and being able to complete workouts without dying through lack of oxygen (I still go beetroot red and sweat excessively but then again I am still almost 16stone.) I am managing to congratulate myself on how far I have come and still setting realistic mini goals so all in all its been OK.

Last night I was having difficulty sleeping and was reminiscing with the help of BBC4 on my fave pop icons all still going strong. Hence the pic of Suggs up top and hopefully Bon Jovi down the bottom. I can't help think about how much I missed out on because of my size. I think it affected me more when I was a teenager than it does now. I never had much confidence when going out anywher, and I still love being out and about but have the major panic with clothes and what to wear and have to force myself out sometimes.

I had a major challenge this week I had a 5 day course with 15 people I did not know . The course was full of up close and personal de-escalation techniques and is my idea of a nightmare but I found myself enjoying it and getting less panicky than I have previously (I have to do the course every year or so)

So all in all things are going good...slowly but good.....

Oh dear its not going to let me add JBJ :(

MMMMMMMM Team JAKE :o)

This morning went to Aqua fit with my friend from ww. It was great fun but turned out to be aqua yoga (which I had never done before) not as energetic but lots of stretching and some tricky moves and of course lots of laughter.

Went for lunch afterwards and I was good having a bacon and mushroom and red pepper salad :o) so well within points there...then it was a quick dash to meet another friend at the cinema to see Eclipse :o). I had a bottle of water and a handful of counters but managed NOT to eat a huge bagful.....pointed and written down and so well on track.

Really enjoyed Eclipse.....nothing better than a a movie full of teenage angst, love, oh yes and lots of lovely men :o). I am definately a Werewolf girl :o)

Apparently I have lost the equivalent of this russian baby

Apparently this baby is 17.5 lbs the total of what I have lost. It is apparrently double the weight of a normal baby.

So chuffed with myself.

Goals come and go...ooops

Just realised I was hoping to have got down to 15 stone by this weekend :o( at 15 stone 11lbs I am nowhere near. HOWEVER new decade new giggles, and I am not disheartened. I am going to concentrate on the positives

1) I am a lot happier and I am spending all my spare time with a lovely man....:o)
2) My weight has not increased
3) I am in the right stone bracket
4) My confidence is rocketing
5) I may not have dropped a dress size, but I have dropped a shoe width fitting
6) I am engaged and have a major goal to head for now :o)

Need to think about a new goal :o)

where do I want to be ???

Wedding bliss :o)

Had a weekend with keith this weekend and attended his friends wedding.

Now previously any social event would have had me running away and hiding. I can't deny I was slightly nervous what with knowing no-one except Keith, but I was far calmer than I had ever been before.

Initially we had only been going to evening do and I had planned my outfit, but a week before the happy couple invited us to the full day. Well this did make me panic a wee bit. Initially I thought well I will wear the dress I initially thought, can't be helped, but then as the week went by I realised how it was stressing me a wee bit. With hours to go before I drove down to Lincoln I headed towards White Rose.

On the way there I counselled myself...

1) Don't buy first thing you see that fits
2) If you don't find anything you like the dress you have at home will be more than adequate

when I got there I went to Evans and thought bet there is nothing as there is a sale on. Lots of T-shirts and things but nothing weddingy but then I saw the lady in teh shop was wearing a maxi dress that looked nice, I asked her and she showed me the rail of dresses. I had a choice it was amazing.

There were two I liked and I purchased both, the lady behind the counter informing me I could return them if I wasn't happy. So off I trundled to Lincoln.

Keith loved the dresses, and gave a considered opinion as to which he preferred. It's weird , I had no fear parading in front of him and asking for his opinion, I was confidennt in my choices and both dresses made me feel good.

On the morning of the wedding I was running around getting ready and put on my trusty black sandals.....oh dear I should have tried them lol. When I put them on I could not walk in them.......my usually fat puffy feet had obviosuly lost weight and the wide fitting shoes now simply would not stay in place. Luckily I had put two pairs of possible shoes in the bag and the second pair fitted better although probably didn't go as well with the dress but with Keith on my arm, I didn't care.

The day was amazing, I met lots of new people and yes I was nervous but to be honest I was too busy enjoying myself to fret too much. One lady took me to one side for a girly chat.....I was amazed when she told me that she was so surprised when she met me as the picture she had in her head was nothing like the real me, and could not believe that I was nervous meeting new people (keith had prewarned some of his friends about my nerves I think), she told me how beautiful I looked and that I should never hide away. :o) made me feel like a million dollars lol. She said she was surprised that Keith and I had met on ww...I was too small lol I love this lady.

Keith cooked a barbecue on sunday , and considered my points when he was planning it .....he really is an angel you know.

Just given my neighbours a laugh..

privet hedge at my front ahs become a wee bit overgrown but as I experience joint pain in my hands I have put it off and put it off until people finally couldn't get out of the front door ...so I went out today with my secaters...half an hour later I had made a pathe to the front gate only to look down and realise I was stood there not only in my apron (with daft cats on) but also my pig head slippers....oh well teh neighbours wokr with ya smile this morning at least lol

Knackered after 4 hours of solid housework !!!! must have bonus points in there!

Learning to ask myself ...do I need that???

I have lost half a pound of fat tonight :o) its a good thing, I am back to 16 stone, so got 26 days to lose 14lbs.LOL

Ok so my second stone is a wee bit longer in coming than I hoped but I will get there. I have popped up the pic of a lb of fat to remind myself how much of an achievement 1/2 lb is. :o)

I am still looking at habits.

Last night I set myself a life laundry task and achieved it. I emptied not one but two wardrobe bottoms and sorted out a whole box full of stuff for the car boot (all good for teh wedding fund lol)

Today I found myself wandering aimlessly around the supermarket, I had to go to pick up some stuff for work, but I was gazing at cakes...which I avoided by loitering near the toiletries...found 3 shower gels in my basket having been seduced by the 5 items for £3...but then I stopped...do I need these?

The answer was a resounding no, it was a bargain but not when you have a cupboard full of expensive smellies your nearest and dearest bought you for your birthday.

Recognising these things will help me save pounds...not just lbs but £££££'s.

Life long journey methinks.....I have also found my rosemary conley book day by day which has an exercise to do each day :o) May give it a go !!!!

Good luck all of you xxxx

Its been a funny old week ......

I really don't know what the scales will say tomorrow ....i am hoping to have lsot some of this months gain, but you never know.

I have tracked the latter half the week and I have done lots and lots of exercise, but is it enough. I am aiming for a STS but we shall see.

Work is a nightmare so I have decided I really need to take stock and keep myself healthy. Part of that is eating properly and giving myself 'me time'. I have realised I can have 'me time' by exercising, be taht walking with ,ates or going to the gym. I have also realised I need to plan all this.

I am also trying to goal set a wee bit more. I have very little time but realise taht the lack of cleaning and tidying I do gets me down. so instead of disparing at lack of time I am setting myself small achievable 'life laundry taks' each night.

Tonight for example I have decided to look at the messy bottom of one of my wardrobes, full of old shoes and bags and things with no homes. I have a keep, unsure and bin box, and also a take to keiths for car boot sale box. Keith has decided that a carboot sale may inspire me to declutter, and this means we can help our wedding fund :o).

lets hope I can keep this up.

Wibbly Wobbly winners :o)

Yay we made it. 10 miles overnight for wakefield hospice :o)

Yay, but they made me wear a tutu ....grrr.

I am a bit achey and I have missed being with Keith , but we did get a lovely breakfast together before he had o go back to lincoln :o(

I am not sure whether to have a bath or to sleep, know I am going to be really tired tomorrow. Got in at 3.45am and got up at 9.30am so a nap may be in order.

Today woke up with resolve to do a wee bit of exercise and to try to stay on track, so when Keith had a big breakfast I stuck to poached eggs on toast :o).

OK so I am going to slob on sofa and watch eastenders and then have a nap, I also bought some salmon for my tea tonight.

Surviving the social life???

OK so weightwatchers are about changing habits for life. I really don't want to be a fat bride. Earlier this year I identified March was my downfall each year and had attributed that to my birthday and family social events taking over. I actually managed taht quite well, but the engagement has been another hiccup in the weight loss plan.

My goal if you remember was to have got down to 15stone by July 4th....I still have 13.5lbs to go....now I am going to be realistic, it is unlikely I can get to this target but I want to at least be heading towards it.

The issue is the social events, and finding time to plan...well there you go I ahve answered my own question. Seems thsi weightwatchers stuff works. Giving myself time to stop and think about what is going wrong rather than beating myself up over teh gain has actually got me back on track quicker.

This weekend I have the wibbly wobblies team 10 mile walk for wakefield hospice (pictures to follow...tutus not wings this time :o))so I have some bonus points. Now in the past I would have thought, oh my eating will be erratic so I will ignorethis weekend but no this time I am going to point and just keep an eye on it. Tomorrow I am planning to sit down with my lappy and plan my meals for the coming week and get an order out to asda I have found taht if I browse teh aisles I over buy and overeat.

I have a weekend away booked with Keith next weekend but again I am going to plan for it, save some points and then play catch up...if I could be 15 stone 7 by the weddding I am going to in July then I will be happy because I have managed to get back on track and identified my bad habits.

The picture at the top is an incentive. I spent a weekend away with the girls last weekend and we had a great evening in a hot tub, but the photographic eveidence is damning, To say this is one of teh better pictures is telling in itself.

Giggles really has no excuse......she has

1) a lovely man who loves her dearly,
2) loads of great friends who support her in her weight loss
3) her health (more or less) so has no excuse not to do gentle exercise
4) a weight loss plan she knows works when she follows it
5) a huge incentive of a wedding in 2012.

Giggles also knows the things which slow her down.

1) not giving herself time for herself so she can plan and eat her meals.
2) not prioritising her exercise goals
3) her social life and her attitude that she can catch up tomorrow rather than planning.....

So basically I need to put it in action. I will try and put my menu on here for the week too as I think this may help me.

Well thats it I am ready to meet the challenge....onward and upward :o)

Hope you are all making steady progress on your journey.

Finally stopped beaming enough to post properly

Well Keith , aka KKXXSS off the ww boards, proposed to me on 22-05-10, and I said yes....well at first I kind of went ermmmmm oooooo ermmmm, what....ern ooooooo yes yes yes yes.....(after he had repeated his whole speach.

For those of you of a sensitive disposition, or ones that just don't wnt to know the fluffy details, I would skip thsi post as I am afraid he was very very romantic :o)

well he played it very cool all day we went to a local gardens and I whittered constantly as normal :o)....he is always a gent and I love spending time with him so it was just a normal perfect summers day.

He took me to a restaurant and we had a lovely dinner, me playing peek a boo with the toddler sat opposite us, telling keith how much I wanted children and him just smiling and saying soon :o).

then I noticed the music in the pub...it was Taylor Swifts 'Love story', so I say its so nice this, it's our song, it was one of the first songs we heard together :o). He just grinned and said, I remember hearing this at your house the first time I came to see you.

then the dessert board came.....and as I was discussing the virtues and points values of desserts he jumps up and runs off. Very strange says I, thinking he has eaten something dodgey...lol

he then appears in the doorway, the music stops and I clock the dozen long stem red and white roses. :o)

next thing he is telling me how he has loved me since the first time he saw me, wants to spend the rest of his life with me...buy ascruffy dog and have children....:o) well he was more romantic than that but you get the gist :o)

he produces a ring...and I scream yes :o)

If all that wasn't enough, he has been to see my mum and dad to ask for my hand in marriage. Iam very traditional so this meant so much to me.....

so basically for the last two weeks I have let the diet slip and the rose wine flow......

but from tomorrow it all stops....I do not want to be fat bride.....I am so very happy and I have no excuse to emotionally eat :o).......giggles is back on track.

Eating my way through an essay crisis ..... :o(

Oh dear seem to have done nothing but eat choc all weekend. I managed to stay within points but that means I have had very little in the way of real food. Not good.

Feel pants. Its this blinking essay business, I am not an academic and I keep setting myself questions taht are too narrow. I have 5 days off next weekend to get it finished so shouldn't be too stressed but to be honest I just don't know what direction to go in.

I think tho I am just one of those people that need a short deadline, maybe I should just accept that and get on with it.

I have lots to get through bu i have lots of nice things planned for the summer before I head back into the academic world. I just need to scrape through this module.

Please ww fairies look down on me and make me a good girl and let the scales be kind on tuesday.

:o)

Giggles is back to her pre-birthday weight :o)

Christmas 2009

This planning and setting mini-goals seems to be working.

1/3 of the way through the year and I have lost 17lbs so far.If you look at pic of me at xmas and compare it to the one at the bottom from last month I think you can see the change in weight in my face. :o)

If I carry on like this I could potentially lose 42lbs that means I could if I work at it lose 3 stone. Thats a pretty good feeling :o).
I am still taking baby steps and planning small achievable goals but I am getting there.

Its a nice feeling achieveing things, especially as I am having a bit of a stressful time all things considered.

I am thinking this blog helps. Setting things down on paper seems to make them happen :o)

Hope all you peeps are happy out there.

Emotional Eating demons.......

Today has been a really awful day. Its all work related and no-one is going to die or anything but I can feel my emotions and my body reacting. This on top of teh assignment stress and huge workload I already have is not going to help my diet journey...unless.

You see this is where I am now...stood at a cross roads. I am giving myself the benefit of the doubt and saying that what my mind is trying to do is recognise a trigger and a possible situation rather than saying that this is the only course of action.

I came home tonight and identified....

* I had had a hellish day
* My stomach felt really empty
* My head felt like it was in a vice
* I felt tired
* I felt let down
* I craved choccy

So what did I do??

* I attempted to put todays events in some sort of perspective...no one is going to die, people have let me down but the issue is with them not me etc. and what can I do about things and what do I have to leave to someone else.

* Accepted the funny feeling in my stomach may be stress. Thought about breathing exercises and distraction techniques I could do to see if it eased stomach.

* With my head I recognised it was stress related so did not pop pills. I sat at the back door with a cup of chammomile tea to try and relax me.

* I recognised i may have disturbed sleep tonight, and that I had had a draining day so I allowed myself an hour power sleep. I set my alarm and made sure I got up as soon as it went off and have done an hour of cleaning to tire myself out for tonights sleep hopefully.

* I ate pointed jaffa cakes and have given myself permission to have a pointed chinese if I want it later for my tea. At this moment in time as i ma writing this I think the permission granting has taken off the craving and a nice bowl of tomato soup sounds more appealling.

Along side todays events I have an essay crisis looming so tomorrow, I have a day off work. I intend to get up at my my normal time as if I were going to work and get some exercise in to clear my head. I am undecided at the moment as to whether to go for a walk in the fresh air or hit the treadmill, but I guess it will depend on what the weather brings.

I can't say I feel 100% better, but writing this I do feel in control and like I say I feel at a cross roads and I have decisions to make. I will go to asda and get some dried fruit and some nice healthy quick prepare food to get me through the weekend, I will acknowledge my emotional eating habits and try to pick up some healthier options which will quell the eating demons and appease them but not undo the good work I have achieved so far this year.....

Oh god will the weightwatchers fairies please look down on me and help this poor reformed emotional eater?? will the force be with me....... only time will tell.

keep on walking......

These days I have found walking really lifts my mood.

I am struggling with the amount of university work and paid work I have to get through but I am actually very happy and sleeping well.

I think booking the time to meet with a couple of my friends each week to walk is giving me the me time I require and the fresh air and a good dose of sunshine.

This week I walked 5.5 miles with my fat club friend.. we were really impressed with each other as we are both quite unfit , but we talked all the way and hardly got out of breath what a difference a few months makes.

The scales were kind this week and another lb bites the dust.

I think I mentioned I have my next taregt a pair of jeans donated to me by a friend....a size 16 pair of jeans...they get up my legs but have an inch to go before I can fasten them....I will get a pic up

:o)

Thursday, 22 April 2010

so proud of me and my sis

13 miles 4 fat fairies and lots of money for cancer research.

We managed to survive the 13 mile overnight walk for cancer research....BUT I am so disappointed with the lb loss I have had this week :(

doesn't seem fair somehow. Ah well onwards and upwards.

Tuesday, 13 April 2010

another 3 bite the dust :o)

Another 3lb lost. So that makes it a stone bang on. I am pleased with that. So now I still have a stone to lose before 4th July.....very doable.

Got a half marathon to walk on saturday so not sure what I will be eating but the exercise is right up there. :o.

Its funny went to fat club tonight and one of my mates is a clerk there and she has got really competitive now I am almost the same weight as her...weird way to inspire someone but BRING IT ON !!!! lol

Tuesday, 6 April 2010

Fat cow but happy giggles...lol

I had a weekend away this weekend. I was in Ayr with Keith and I had a lovely time. Although I had decided I was going to go easy on myself, I also decided I would add up the points of what i had eaten.......oh dear...two days of 40 points a piece no wonder the scales gave me a gain....Again of 5.5 lbs.

BUT, this year is different....

I always knew march was going to be awful but I have a plan.

I was back at work today and went to weigh in , and after weigh in the asda van arrived with all my 'fast start food....yes I had ordered my food online so that I can do fast start tomorrow :O)

I have decided that ww is a state of mind and I am determined to keep my mind in the right place.

so far this year I have lost the equivalent of a sperm whales brain lol

NOT gonna let it happen again.....

As I have alluded to before, March is a huge hump for me.

It is time for celebration in my family. Birthdays, anniversary's , easter you name it my family will celbrate it with cake and food and allsorts. Now a month out of 12 is nothing, but what tends to happen for me is that the madness of march tends to continue beyond april, may june july and into august , in fact it has been known for me to go all teh way to november before I have got back on track weightwatchers wise.

BUT 2010 is gonna be different .

I am determined that this year I will get back on track now. I have a few days before I go away with Keith, and I am going to try for thos days. I am going to take my tracker with me to scotland and attempt to stay within my points.. When I get back from scotland I intend to do a fast start week to try and get myself right back onto it, and I have already set myself a new mini goal of another stone by July 4th. this will mean I should be heading towards the 14's for the summer.

I really want to succeed this time and I know it is going to be a battle, but it is one that I am going to take on and win..

I ahve to remember so far this year I have lost the equivalent of 224 thin sausages lol :o)

disappointed with myself

I am fed up. Although I had lost the stone required for my birthday forgot to add the extra inches that time of the month added to my boobage :o( hence I was unable to wear THE dress for birthday/parents anniversary meal. Was I wrong to set myself up?

I know that you can't predict weight loss or where the inches are going to fall away but I was so annoyed with the whole dress thing...got really stressed and annoyed with it all even tho I found a black dress I had bought last year which I could not fit into previosly which looked lovely on.

I should have been happy. But instead I was ratty with Keith who only told me the truth about the dress, I was bolshy with my mum when she couldn't pin my boobage into the straining dress...I even cursed the aforementioned boobage even tho for the last 20 years or so it has been my best friend!!!!

I liked myself in the black dress and I know that some day soon THE dress will fit perfectly but I was so disappointed. I think I over ate to compensate too. We went for a meal and I wasn't too cautious with my choices.....and unlike my birthday I have not counted the damage.I have got back on track today but I am really worried about weigh in tomorrow but I will face my fears and step on with my head held high.

Apart from the brief downer I had a lovely weekend with my family and Keith, and I can't wait until next weekend when we are off up to scotland. I am intending to point for teh weekend but I also intend to do some exercise to counter act any excesses I may feel the need to embrace lol!

Only three weeks until the walk , I am beginning to worry a little now .....mmmmmm baby steps :o)

studying munchies.......

Well I managed to avoid the studying munchies today.

I remember when I did my GCSE's I used to study in the garden.....I would study in the morning then walk to the shop as my folks had told me exercise and a break would stimulate my brain. I always walked my dog to local shop and picked up something nice as a treat for the afternoon study. Only now do I allow myself to recall how I used to pick up the large family packs of maltesers or revels and I would consume this in the afternoon every afternoon whilst I revised. Not only that but my mum and dad would feed melots of nice big wholesome meals usually with a pudding to help me cos I was studying so hard. :o)

Well I did taht throughout my GCSE's....oh yes and now I think of it our ice cream man came round every night and I used to be so impressed becuase he knew my sister and I by name.....now I think it was because we saw him every night.....ice cream treats or 10p mixes i was always there :o(. And then 2 years of studying for my A levels...and the invention of giant cadburys buttons.....OMG I can't imagine how many points I ate those days no wonder I was in a size 22 skirt from evans for my headmasters sherry party for leavers.....I was mortified :o(

Uni was a little better...it was teh first time I realised that most people had a snack type lunch and then a large meal at night rather than a big meal for both. I was on school dinners prior to that and it was chips with everything, and then home to a big meal at night. I am lucky as my family was the type of family that sat and ate tea together, and I am pleased about that, but wish I had had less as part of my school meal.

Well my MSc is here and another load of study but, despite the increase in pressure due to living alone and this time it actually counting for something and me actually paying for it , well this time I am being aware of my eating habits whilst studying.

Today I had a deadline and my fridge was stocked with no point jelly and low point snacks.....actually I did not need them as have gorged self on jar of baby beetroot....oh I will have pink pee tonight lol

maybe the ww habits are finally making sense lol

Oh, and I promised to post a pic of my mum as a beautiful bride, I have found a lovely one of my mum and dad caught off guard...they are such lovely people and I don't think that 40 years of marriage have changed them that much......that being said I need to think about dealing with the next weight loss hurdle which is their wedding anniversary dinner on saturday :o)

I am now 35, but I tend to act my shoe size rather than my real age...so that would be 6 then :o)

so yesterday was my 35th birthday.....

I ate particularly well, but did not point anything lol.

so lets try to back track and calculate the damage

woke had celebratory can of diet coke 0 points

got to work 2 sausages :o) = 5 points

big slice of homemade victoria sponge = 6.5 points

lunch bowl of chips 4 points and portion onion rings = 6 points

OMG

another slice of birthday cake approx 4 points

butterkist at cinema 3.5 points

maltesers 4 points

frankie and bennies sticky pasta 15 points

so grand total of 49 points OMG OMG OMG

well thats a line drawn under it

I got to my stone goal for my birthday and hope to wear lovely dress for parents wedding anniversary

this is on saturday so will try and get some pics.

I have set my next target. Another stone by 4th july.....this is because, its about the same time frame as last time, and keith and I are going to a wedding together on the 3rd so it works.......mmmmmm maybe another new dress oppurtunity lol.

so by weigh in 29th june I will weigh 15 stone, a loss of two stone since xmas hopefully. here goes.

the curse of march

Well its sunday night in the curse of March....

This weekend mothering sunday (although we celbrate on saturday as my mum has charitable commitments on the sunday).

My sister and I thought long and hard and bought my mum a basket of bulbs, and we went to the theatre to see calendar girls. Mum is trying to eat healthily so we decided against the usual chocs and wine.....her face lit up when she opened the gift, especially as my sis and I had made her cards for her too.

We went to the theatre and had no sweeties....and you know what not one of us missed them. We were so engrossed in the hilarity of the performance we didn't need the munchies. I ordered our interval drinks, and made sure the words diet coke rather than white wine came out of my mouth !!!

But then disaster struck.........

My father and my sister appeared really tired, and I suggested they stay over rather than drive over the penines. They agreed but then we had teh issue of food. I live alone, so I do not carry supplies for 4 lol. Everyone was tired and so I suggested we eat at the local pub.

I picked the pub as they have lots of 'smaller portion' meals and felt that people could choose what they wanted whether they decided to diet or not. I must admit I was a bit panicky....what with them having my favourite macaroni cheese and all lol.

Anyway we sat down, and instead of macaroni I found myself ordering haloumi salad, and my mum bless her, she had a tuna jacket potato. It was nice sitting eating as a family and we all ate as we wanted and the food was delicious and all served as if it were lobster or caviar. Presentation is such a big thing.

So I survived the first of the 'family' weekends in march that usually cause me to overeat....I am convinced that I will have a gain this week just as I am out of my usual routine but I have tried and thats the main thing.

Just thinking about my mum and dads wedding anniversary now. 40 years :o). I hope if I ever get married I look as beautiful as my mum did. (beautiful peeps in top pic are my mum and dad last year on our family holiday)

Climb Climb up sunshine mountain......

Well its been a bit of an uphill struggle this week.....

I weighed in on Tuesday as normal and was pleased to see a steady loss of 1.5lbs taking me to 16lbs since christmas. So yes I was a happy bunny but then I realised I had set my target at a stone and a half for my birthday which gives me 2 weigh ins to lose another 5 lbs, and as my birthday celebrations start tonight with a curry with my ww friends I am thinking a loss of 2.5lbs a week for next fortnight is out of my grasp.

I wrote my despair on my facebook status and luckily one of my ww online friends was there to make me see sense. What an achievement 16lbs was rather than how awful I may not make 21lbs for birthday. She asked me to post a before and after picture so I am going to ask my family (who are visiting this weekend) to take a pic and I will see if we can see a difference.

Whilst I was out walking with the ww clerks on monday (whom I must thank for keeping me on the exercise straight and narrow as I truly believe our weekly 5 mile walk is helping keep me losing and also keeping me sane.) Anyway whilst walking with them I was talking about my weight loss pattern. That is I start every new year with attack and usually lose about a stone through january and february and then things stand still in march, I gain on my birthday and at easter and never seem to get back on track until late november.... :o(.

Maybe just maybe, this year will be different as because I have discovered my habit I can change it...maybe the light is dawning this year......

Its been a tough week, I have had very little time for me, what with work pressures (I manage a team who has a vacancy and some sickness so I am covering a lot), my university deadlines ...thank god that essay is done even if it took a pack of mini jaffa cakes to get me through, and the day to day running of the house....its never ending

I am finding it harder and harder saying goodbye to keith each week....we try and see each other most weekends but even that is getting squashed into shorter and shorter flying visits with all the pressures but luckily he is a lovely man and is being very supportive in it all......made me realise how much I love him, he even noticed my 'dough baby' was diminishing!!!!!

Today I have tidied around my house (filing all the articles that were strewn around, and washing up that I have not done over last two days) and I am now settling down to some relaxing card making....

Busy busy busy......but happy happy happy....hence climb climb up sunshine mountain....

one stone gone and my 5% sticker next to my second silver seven.

well thats a loss of 4lbs at the scales and my first stone done and I am now at my 5% target.

I must be doing it right, but this week I told my leader I wasn't sure why I was bothering as TOTM due and I feel so bloated, however maybe my lenten resolve to cut out sliced bread and rolls has paid off.

I can't say I deserved a 4lb loss...I haven't eaten well or pointed however I have been considerate when snacking, or rather I haven't snacked, and I am less likely to put a sweet treat in my trolley.

I think not having naughtiness in the house has helped, although the times when I find myself peering desperately in the cupboards for that quick snack fix I inwardly curse my resolve!!!!!

Oh well onwards and upwards...still haven't had any alcohol since my binge either so I guess that helps.

Tuesday, 16 February 2010

Just to keep us all up to date last week I lost 2lbs after being poorly and this week I gained a 1.5lbs :o(

will write again when I have more time.

First gain, First hurdle???

I gained on Tuesday...half a pound.

It was to be expected, nights out weekends away and lack of planning on my days I had control. But I have been honest with myself, picked myself and dusted myself off and I am back on track.... well sort of.

Its been a hectic week and nothing is going to plan and although I am staying within my points I know I have eaten badly...

Wednesday for example...took healthy food for my lunch, had planned for no lunch break and taken cup a soup and crackers and grapes for all eventualities and then colleague needs support..and bad food.....whilst she told me her woes she wanted a burger King...I was totally unprepared and didn't know what to have :o(

chicken bites sounded a safer option (no bread or cheese or mayo) but was horrified the meal had cost me the majority of my points for the day ....so no tea for me that night, and last night I had a takeaway, again pointed but its not good for me is it???

Tonight I have a meal out with the girls (my ww leader included snigger)..wine will be flowing but may use my cold as an excuse not to drink, only problem is its just around the corner for me so can't take my car so bet I am easily persuaded to have a few wines. empty points to be honest. Its an Italian we are going to and i know I should have tomato based sauces but I don't like tomatoes...:(. Oh dear the excuse demon is coming out what shall I do....

OK what can I do .....

1) Not have starter or dessert
2) have rissotto where I don't have any sides, or look for a veg based pasta
3)no point soup for lunch today and tomorrow
4) Colleen Nolan DVD this afternoon.

Must remember to

1) wear small trousers
2) put fat pic in my purse

Did I mention my ww class friends are amongst the worst of my friends in terms of sabateours???? lol

Love them, I do, but some of my naughtiest moments are with them

Survived another night out without too much of a slip up.....

So I had a copy of this fat picture in my wallet so everytime I bought a drink I saw Mrs Blobby. I also took my car to avoid the lure of real ale. My other plans went slightly wrong but it wasn't my fault guv.

PLAN A - HAVE CLEAR SOUP FOR STARTER WHILST OTHERS HAVING GREASY PRAWN TOAST ETC - PLAN FAILED. Failed as this buffet did not have soup lol. Instead made a tiny weeny duck pancake last by packing it out with lots of strips of cucumber. Entered into witty banter with my dinner friends whilst I put down my knife and fork down and enjoyed each mouthful.

PLAN B - ONLY GO TO BUFFET ONCE. unfortunately the queueing part was one of the most sociable bits; we were a large party and it was the only time you got to speak to other people around the table. So I used a side plate and each time I went up I just had a spoonful of one meal....and looked for teh none battered one. I also asked for a small portion of boiled rice as I was on a low fat diet and they obliged quite happily.

there was also a chocolate fountain ......which again was a social focus....ARRRRGGGHHHH

But I was good...one marshmallow dipped in choc to join in general hilarity whilst people trying to work out how to use fountain and then just had the fruit and did not dip it :o). No one noticed.

My diet Saboteur was also present and true to form all the way through I had 'oh tell me you are not dieting tonight...its only one night, you look fine as you are'...... 'oh glad to see you are not dieting ooo you should have one of these great big fried mushrooms ' but the little portions and frequent visits to buffet bar had her fooled lol.

she also berated me for bringing my car and not drinking but was ever so grateful for the lift home lol. Why do friends do this ??????

Keep the faith folks we can do this :o)
